Abrom Croix is plucked from a secret society at birth and raised on a southern thoroughbred farm, with no thoroughbreds and a half-ass barn. With the help of an old Indian's alchemical potion (Starfire), Abrom is able to use his Light Body, the shadowy form of a controlled out of body experience. Turmoil erupts in The Order when an unknown Light Body assassin begins killing off members in a growing power struggle.
